What are my responsibilities as a TravellersSOS Affiliate?
You
are responsible for setting up links from your website to
TravellersSOS.co.uk in the appropriate areas of your
website, updating them frequently, and directing your audience
to visit our website.
Other
than this, it's up to you how much work you put in. But affiliates
who put the most effort into their links, especially those
who include text links in relevant website content, tend to
get the most out of the program, both in terms of their customer
loyalty, and cold hard cash.
(Also,
stating the obvious, you also have to comply with the operating
agreement!)

What are TravellersSOS.co.uk's responsibilities?
We
do the rest. We take care of selling TravellersSOS
to the visitors you send, collecting their premiums, providing
customer service, providing the emergency service, paying
claims, providing assistance, and everything else related
to their customer experience.
We
also give you the tools you need to succeed in marketing TravellersSOS.
So we track the links from your website to ours, calculate
commissions due, and send you your marketing report and payment
each month. We also send you a regular affiliate newsletter
to keep you up to date with what's working across our affiliate
network, and in the affiliate world in general, so that you
can maximise your earnings.
Remember
affiliate marketing is all about performance. If you're successful,
we're successful. So we'll do everything we can to make sure
you're successful.
(Again
stating the obvious, we have to comply with the operating
agreement too.)

Which websites are best suited to the TravellersSOS
program?
In
general you should select affiliate programs that tie in with
your website's content. Your affiliate programs and your content
should be difficult to distinguish from each other. And your
visitors should see the affiliate link as a relevant link
- you should simply be bringing the website to their attention.
The
TravellersSOS Affiliate Program is best suited to websites
that are travel-based, or that contain regular travel-based
content (such as flight, accommodation or car hire companies).
If your website falls outside this spectrum but you feel that
you can sell TravellersSOS by all means fill out our
online application form. We'll look at your website and get
back to you.

A lot of my sales are offline via the telephone / a call centre.
Can I still sell TravellersSOS?
Yes.
TravellersSOS can be sold just as effectively via the
telephone (inbound telesales), perhaps more so. Conversion
rates via telesales can be as high as 30% and average over
15%. We can help with telesales training and provide options
on policyholder data capture. E-mail us at affiliates@TravellersSOS.co.uk
and we'll be happy to discuss this with you.

Can I take the order for TravellersSOS on my website
(rather than transfer the visitor to you)?
Yes,
but only with our specific agreement. This requires significant
input from us in order to ensure quality, security and accounting
is maintained. But it can work very well where, for example,
you offer TravellersSOS during or at the end of a sale
of travel insurance or car hire. You will already have collected
most of the information we need as part of your sale, so the
sale of TravellersSOS can often be made by asking the
customer to check a 'click' box.

6.
As an affiliate I need to sell your product, right?
No.
As an affiliate your job is not to sell our product to your
website visitors. Your job is to persuade your visitors that
the product is relevant to them, and to click on the link
from your website to ours in an 'open-to-buy' state of mind.
Let us make the sale. By all means recommend, but you don't
need to sell. (If you 'sell' and then we 'sell' your visitors
will be turned off, and they won't buy. So don't sell, recommend
and get them to our website. We'll sell.)

7.
What types of websites show strong results participating in
your program?
Websites
that are professional looking, clean and have good visitor
loyalty. It is also helpful if they sell travel products or
provide valuable and relevant information related to the travel
market. Of course traffic is necessary too!
Top
8.
What kind of related content do you look for?
Travel
and travel-based information. This can range from direct sell
travel insurance and holiday companies to magazine and content
websites with a travel bias or travel section.

9.
Do you find that there is a particular audience demographic
(male/female, young/old, etc.) that responds best to TravellersSOS?
TravellersSOS
sells across all demographic groups and age ranges. The 'single',
'couples' and 'family' options mean that that product appeals
throughout the family lifecycle. And the demographics of the
web also closely match those of TravellersSOS's 'average'
buyer in terms of income levels. So "no" is the
simple answer.
